Trying to build a family can bring with it high levels of social, emotional, physical and relationship stress. This stress may affect many aspects of your life including your ability to become pregnant. Fertility counseling can help you manage these stresses as well as help you to sort through the choices and decisions to make on your journey to being parents.

 Grief & Loss Counselling

Losing someone, something, a baby, a pregnancy - is very painful. Even the loss of a potential future often will trigger feelings of grief. Healing from loss is a highly personal and individual process and experience. A counselor can help you navigate these stages of grief to help you heal.

 Postpartum Depression

Having a baby can be very stressful no matter how much you have planned, anticipated or love your child. The baby blues are normal but if these feelings intensify or don’t go away after a few weeks you may have postpartum depression. PPD can interfere with your ability to take care of your child and yourself so getting support and counseling right away is important in returning to a happy motherhood.

 Therapy for Adolescents

Adolescence is a challenging and difficult transition period. Struggles often arise with regards to anxiety, depression, body image and eating disorders, self-esteem, anger, relationships or simply with not feeling like oneself. In order to optimize and improve an adolescent’s mental health, individual counselling for teens in conjunction with emotion coaching for parents may be beneficial in providing strategies to successfully identify and voice the thoughts, feelings and behaviors associated with their experience.

Counselling for Adults

Are you currently experiencing difficulties with depression, anxiety, panic attacks, social awkwardness, phobias, body image and eating disorders, anger, stress or are struggling with regards to parenting, relationship, self-esteem, trauma, grief or loss? If so, seeking counselling services combining Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) strategies and interventions can assist you in understanding and overcoming these mental health concerns and issues. 

Clinical Therapy: $190 per session
Psychotherapy: $100 per session*

 Coaching for Women

Personal Coaching with Nelia is a creative and personalized blend of mindfulness practices, mind-body awareness, and concrete solution-focused coaching. Gain insight into areas where you feel stuck, unclear or frustrated, and create a plan for change.

What to expect at a session:

  • A deep sense of feeling heard and understood. Coaching is highly personalized and requires an attuned form of listening and active compassion
  • New insight into yourself or a current life situation
  • A lively and joyful dialogue, that ends with something practical to take away to keep the momentum going.
  • We can also stay in ongoing contact, so you feel supported as you make the changes, because we all know that change takes time, and isn’t always a fast, straight climb!

Calming the Mind: Meditation with your Baby!

New moms often feel like their minds are spinning in circles. What should I be doing? What does my baby need? Many people will tell you to “just listen to your baby” , but how? It can feel impossible sometimes to settle the many thoughts in our minds to be able to tune in to our babies.
This very simple meditation is designed to help you connect more deeply with your baby, and find to get beyond the endless mind chatter, worry & stress. Learn to see your baby more clearly, and be able to feel more connected to your baby, even in times of stress, anxiety and uncertainty.

Release anxiety & stress – 5 minute meditation on self-compassion

This meditation recording came out of a need for me to offer loving support to my clients when I couldn’t be with them. After a wonderful session, sometimes clients would go home and lose touch with the feelings of self-compassion that came out of our time together. It is my experience that any lasting life change must be based on self-compassion. When we try to push or punish ourselves through change, we are working with tension, rather than flow.

When do you know it’s time for self-compassion? When you find yourself feeling unmotivated, when you have ongoing pain or tension in your body, feeling disconnected from loved ones, or just feeling stuck. Maybe you need to reconnect with your heart and feelings of love and joy.

Self-compassion allows you to learn how to talk to yourself in ways that help you feel motivated & energetic. We learn that self-blame and judgment is a very ineffective way to make change. We would never talk to our best friend in ways that we speak to ourselves, because we have an intrinsic knowing that our words would do more harm than good. Try this meditation and see what changes for you. Do it when you feel like you are on a treadmill of worry, felling rushed, stuck in a particular mindset, or just needing a boost of happiness.
