Midwifery

An ancient profession that has evolved over centures, midwifery literallly means “with women”. Midwives draw from this extensive history, the knowledge gained form time, and have used it to help create a modern midwifery profession that provides benefits to women with a blend of art and science. In Ontario, midwifery has been legislated since 1993, and has increasingly become an integral part of modern maternal health care. Welcome your baby into the capable, supportive and experienced hands of one of our midwives.

Whether in the tranquility of your own home or in the hospital, our caring midwives will help nurture your entire family through this profound life event. Midwives provide complete care for your pregnancy, labour, birth and postpartum period. We care for both mother and baby until 6 weeks postpartum.

Midwifery care is free for residents of Ontario. Midwives are regulated health care professionals who are registered by the College of Midwives of Ontario.
